Our new building is coming along well and we will be moving into it in November.

I have been in school the past three days, along with lots of other members of staff.
We have been having a BIG sortout and there are two important announcements:

*The 'Greased Lightning' car is now up for sale!!!
If you would like this car on your bedroom wall, or if you were in Grease, and would like it as a souvenir, email in with your offer of payment.
The new owner will be the highest bidder by the end of the holidays.Start your bidding now- money raised will go to J2 funds.

*We need the the classroom doors and the library painted. Are there any parents who could paint them for us- possibly at the beginning of next term?
It would look a lot brighter and fresher if the library walls matched the rest of the hall. We'll supply the paint and the cups of tea.

on sports day I came 1st in javelin 1st in 200m I got two gold medals then I went to and athletics comp and
came 1st in javelin, 1st in 200m and 1st in relay!!
Then I went to the final and came 8th in javelin, 5th in 200m but ran it in 30 sec and came 2nd in the relay!!

The Lloyds TSB sport week was so fun.On the Friday I rode my horse in the school ! on Saturday I went swimming in my nans pool !
On Sunday I rode at Pandy show ! on Monday I rode my horse in a treasure hunt on ! Tuesday I went running down Wern Gifford ! and on Wednesday
I rode my horses it was really fun !

on day 2 me and Lauren went over to her nanny's and we went in the pool aor ages ,on the third, fourth and six day
I was riding, then on the fifth day I was bouncing on the trampoline for half an hour. bye bye

On bank holiday I climbed the Skirrid and was the first to the top
(probably because I took the straight up vertical route
when we were nearly there)
and then I sprinted all the way back down beating my dad by 6 minutes and my mum by 15 minutes
(she walked)i had a great time but the next day I was very tired!

Well, I wrote a load of stuff about Pattaya, the places we go to, the people we know out there.
I also wrote about the airport and the Hotel, The Dusit Resort and about my friend from Belgium and that EVERYONE we know said Hi!!!!
I told them all about you and they said our school sounds great! They only go to school for eight years, three to eleven years old!
They think it's great that we have so much time in school. They have never heard about Wales before so it was really hard telling them about you.
But there is one really bad thing about going there I can't stand next to the bar girls!!!!!!

Miss Jenkins' children are doing really well in the morning runs too - everybody - yrs 3,4,5 and 6 -is now running for 10 mins every day
- an especially great achievement for the lower juniors who were new to it this year!!

Wow! What a week! Following our fabulous success at the Cross Country last Friday, our rugby team did REALLY well at KHS on Wednesday!

Our school Eisteddfod on Monday and concert on Tuesday were both super events. Well done to all of you who dressed up for World Book Day today!

J2 - I am so proud of you all! Well done on those fantastic runs yesterday.
5 medals out of the 18 is brilliant anyway, and even more so when you consider that we were one of the smallest schools there!
You ALL finished in the first third of your races - aren't you fit!
All those morning runs have definitely paid off and the hill training certainly helped you tackle the slopes!

Me Susy,Jess and Chloe made a snowman but because of the snow I have'nt been able to ride my horse Red
Me and Jess were outside for hours when we went sledging we made a huge jump to go over it was so FUN

What are you all doing today? I don't know what I'm doing see you soon!

Did anyone see Abergavenny town band in the Chronicle? The youth/training band won a big competition last weekend, my friend Erin
( I sit next to her and try to help her a bit) also won the prize for the youngest player in the competition,
she is 8 & plays cornet. So, budding brass players, this is what to aim for!
At the moment the band room is full of blue jumpers (mainly Cantref & King Henry), it would be good to see some red ones as well!
If you are thinking of starting to play an instrument trombones, baritones, euphoniums and bass's are in demand but tenor horns,
cornets and flugel horns are also very cool......and its always good to have more percussion.

Thank you for being super efficient at letting us know whether school was open or not!
We didn't even have to get out of bed (which was very good for Charlie because he won't get up in the morning).

I sent this comment to the BBC:
The headteacher (Llanvihangel Crucorney County Primary, Monmouthshire) & staff at my son's school have been super efficient in the snow.
They have let everyone know whether or not school is on by 7am every morning, based on a practical view of the conditions across the area.
On Wednesday the children were in and they had a great time.
The staff spent their break & lunchtimes playing with the children and encouraging them to enjoy every snow activity.
In class they also did lots of snow based activities. This is really what a school should be about, keeping the children safe,
but also enjoying and learning from everything around them! Thank you all!

Myself and Mr. Evans spent an hour completing the RSPB Birdwatch this morning.
Here is what we saw land in our garden:
4 Chaffinch, 4 Green finch, 1 Dunnock, 1 Robin,
10 Long Tail tits, 1 Reed Bunting, 2 Blue tits,
1 Blackbird, 1 Great tit and 2 Collared Doves,

We were surprised there were no sparrows, crows, magpies or starlings in that hour.
They must have been busy elsewhere!

Hello Scarlett - nice to hear from you!

I've been at a conference today, and one of the ideas that came up was to start an email story. The idea is that someone starts it off, and then another person adds a few more sentences and so on. Try to leave your bit on a cliff hanger, or an unfinished sentence, so it is easy for someone to carry on.

Let's have a go and see what happens!

Here is the start.....

He stepped outside and sniffed the night air. The smell of fireworks hung in the evening mist, forcing his mind to race back to last year, to another bonfire night. Despite his coat, gloves, scarf and the extra T-shirt his mum had made him wear, he shivered.
"Don't think about it! Don't think about it!" He repeated the phrase over and over in his head, trying to squash the rising panic, but it was no good. Images of last year's bonfire night were flooding his memory and the events were set out as clearly as pages in a book.
They had planned it in school, he and his friends. After a lot of discussion, they had decided it would be a good idea to----------------------------

Hello everyone! We've just come back from France - it was warmer over there! We got back at 3.00am on Sunday, so that was a very long day for all of us, but we're fine & fatter after eating croissants and pastries every single day for a fortnight! Hello both, nice to hear from you! Holiday's are great so far, I've just got back from a birdwatching trip with Mr. Evans in Norfolk. It was very cold on a boat out on the North Norfolk coast on Monday morning. We took a trip to look at the seals and Mr. Evans got absolutely soaked as he was sat at the front of the boat! The seals were wonderful though. Nice to see the weather's a bit more summery for you all, personally, I like the cold!

Well done to all of you who came to the Pandy Show today! It was a lovely event and it was great to see 48 (by my counting) of you there! Not bad for a school with only 63 pupils!
Well done to our Country Dancers and Gymnastics groups. You were fabulous,even when it began to rain on you, you still smiled!
Also, a BIG well done to our Football team, who won the tournament (again) by beating their opponants 5-0, 2-0, 2-0 and 2-0! What results!
Many thanks from me to all of the parents and staff who were there to support the children. My particular thanks, of course, to Mrs. Noblet and Mr. Bentley for their smashing training, week in-week out, and to Mr. Roberts and Mr. Price who helped with the organisation of the football and pitches.

Hello Alison - absolutely EVERYTHING goes in your homework book - you don't write on the sheet at all. (Perhaps you were away when I explained???I got everyone to put a line through the sheet, so they didn't write on it.) You have to design your own effort scale and do all the write-up in your book! Hope you get better soon. Glad you found the maths easy - you must have been listening carefully in maths lessons!

Hi Meg. We didn't put the themes on the youth club sessions because we're not too sure when things will actually be. We really wanted to get all the dates out, so that we didn't have to keep writing to everyone every month. If there are particular things we need you to do, then we'll let you know. Plans are for one session with the police in some way, a trip to Brecon to go bowling, more line dancing and some Summery things in June/July next year - oh- and a food session too. The November one is a 'sustainable earth' theme. We've bought you each a cloth bag which you'll be doing your own design on - they'll be great - and the December one is Christingles (and chips!). -Last yrs yr6, do you remember the letters you wrote to Monmouthshire County Council about the incorrect apostrophes in their signs? Well you are mentioned in this week's Free Press! Don Chambers has written another article in which he refers to you as 'eager young pupils from Llanvihangel Crucorney, writing indignant letters' - sadly, although MCC did change the one outside Tesco, they still haven't changed the one opposite the Post Office. Perhaps we need to get this year's year 6 onto them!

I'm glad that you had such a super birthday week. You'll have to tell me all about it tomorrow! I really missed seeing everyone today to catch up! I had a super half term thank you. Myself and Mr. Evans went to Scotland for a spot of birdwatching, unfortunately the weather was really wet so we drank a lot of tea from the flask instead! We did see a golden eagle on the Isle of Mull though, that was really exciting. Two other sightings (non-birdie!) were the red squirrels near Inverness and an otter, munching a fish, on the Isle of Skye! We were really lucky with those!

I just would like to tell you a difference about the year 1666 and the year 2007,
in the year 1666 girls didnt cook because they were too weak to lift the pots and they might burn their faces from standing by the fire they also might get their skirt in the fire and catch fire.
In the year 2007 most girls know how to cook and cook alot. The pots and pans are light and with the equipment we have our faces don't get burnt!!!

Lady Prichard, I know you believe that men are of higher ranking than women, and so only boys go to school, but now everything has changed. Tristan, STOMP are absolutley amazing!!!! Where are they playing? I'd love to go again!! They were in London the last time I saw an advert for them but I was lucky enough to go when they toured to Cardiff. The sounds that they can 'play' with old tyres and bits of pipe and paper are fascinating!!!

What's stomp like[the play I think].

Hi Tristan - have you chosen to go & see Stomp? Both trips look great, don't they.
Stomp is a band that makes music out of anything but instruments - eg brushes, bin lids, tubing, scaffolding poles in water etc.. they also use their boots as tap shoes - they are hugely energetic & you will be amazed!

I hope you aren't pestered by troublesome girls again. Sometimes people go on and on just to get a reaction from you, so if you look really unbothered & just say calmly -'no you've muddled me with someone else' and then carry on chatting to your friends, they might leave you alone. If you get really fed up, have a word with your form tutor or with your PALS - Hannah, Hannah & Rob.

Hello everyone! I had a lovely day in J2 yesterday, so a BIG thank you to everyone (including Mrs George & Mrs Noblet) for making it such a happy, interesting day. Hope enjoyed her first day at KHS and, like you Meg, was very pleased with herself that she didn't get lost! That free lunch for yr7s was a surprise wasn't it!
I like Mrs Evans' new bright website - and if you want to pay us a visit, yr6, you must go and look at the fantastic new toilets in the demountable, all ready for the playgroup children! Hi everyone! King Henry today was alright. I did't get lost though so that's good. Emma and me have Mr Klappholz as our form tutor. He's is quite nice. I hope the new year fives are settling in and behaving themselves and I hope the new year sixes are doing great! Can't wait for tomorrow.=)

Hello everyone! I'm sure there must be more of you out there than just Demi & Alison - you can start to write in now! France had all its 'back to school' signs up in the shops, just like here, but they seem to produce very detailed lists of what children need. Outside one school there was a long list, specifying eg. 12 coloured pencils, 12 felt pens, 3 green pens, 3 red pens, 3 black pens, glue stick, 3 exercise books size 17cm by 24cm ( something like that anyway), etc etc. The shops also produce work books for children to complete in the holidays so that they are 'ready' to go back to school after the long break! Good idea or not? What do you think? We all went to see Harry Potter last night. I'd love to know what you think about this latest film. It got quite lively in our cinema as two different sets of parents had a shouting match because one of the families had brought a little baby who cried during the film, and the other family didn't think she should have been there.
I'm looking forward to seeing you all again - I'm sure you've done loads of growing over the six weeks. (There - what a typical 'boring adult' thing to say! Sorry!) See you on Wednesday.

As a trick, I took John's car out yesterday and left him and my brother to drive through Newport in my car, complete with ribbons, balloons, confetti and banners!

On Sunday 5th August there is a 1k fun run (also a 5k, but you have to be 15yrs or older for that one)) around Abergavenny town centre at 11.30am. Maybe some of you would like to do it together?It costs £2 to enter, but every finisher gets a medal. Let me know if you enter - I'll come to watch.

Hello Alison- can you see if you can borrow an old shopping bag from a neighbour maybe? The clothes have to fit you, so a plain skirt in a child's size would be OK. The important thing to remember is that it mustn't look modern, so no logos or modern fabric. Also, as they were trying to be economical in WW2, things tended to be straight cut (not full and gathered) and they didn't have a lot of pockets or extra bits because they couldn't afford to be wasteful with material. Hope this helps.

I'm surprised that noone in Year 6 has replied, they all know you've asked because we spotted it this morning in class!
I think the reason that they've not replied is that they are all so worn out! It sounded like a really exciting day! They made biscuits (and ate them!), took part in P.E. lessons, did work on Angles in maths and much more! I hope Tristan had enough to eat at lunchtime, he was worried about that!
You'll also be pleased to know that they've worked really hard on the songs for the play with me and we've only got one left to master! See you tomorrow!

Hello Clare & Alison! I'm not sure that running club will be on in July, Clare - there is so much else on towards the end of term, sorry. We missed you on Friday, Alison - what a shame you were ill. The Spitfire in the classroom has got patches of greeny- brown- don't know if that helps. Do an internet image search for Spitfire - you'll get plenty of ideas that way.

Dont worry Mrs. Pritchard, its my schools' Sports day on Wednesday. I'm competeing in the triple jump and the cross country run, if it is not cancelled!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Clare! Unfortunately, we've had to postpone ours. :-( We were due to hold it tomorrow (Mon 24th) but the field is so water-logged and the forecast is terrible. Hopefully we'll try again in a couple of weeks time when the field has had chance to drain, if it ever stops raining!

What are the plants without leaves looking like now? For those of you who don't know, we are investigating what happens to plants if they have no leaves. We have got pairs of plants in the classroom, one plant complete and its pair without any leaves. We felt rather cruel doing this as we now have some very sad and bare looking plants, but you have to do these things in the interests of scientific knowledge...

Hi Mrs. Sullivan, Mrs. Jones has done a very good job at putting your posters up as there isn't an empty notice board anywhere on my 20km route, that goes as north as Longtown and as south as Mardy, in Abergavenny! I do a shorter 5km route up the valley towards Llantony, on week days so I shall have to see if there is posters on that routes' notice board as well!

Sorry I have not been writing. The last I wrote was 2nd February.

Hi everyone! I had a nice surprise when I logged on just now and saw how many comments there were. I am really really enjoying my half term, even though the weather is a bit mixed. Molly had her party yesterday and the cousins are coming to stay for a couple of days now, so we will have a houseful. Let's hope we can get out and about - I think I see some wet welly walks coming up! Well done for getting down to your homework. Molly and Hope did theirs on Monday, I did my planning, Mark read through all his emails and Emily & Isaac did some AS and GCSE revision, so we had a real 'everybody work day' to free up the rest of the week. Its been such a long time since we have seen you all we think of you all often though, we hope that you are all well and working hard!!!!
We have just been looking through your web site, wow its fantastic, such great photos keep up the great work.
We are still at Crickhowell, Kea really loves it there and has some lovely friends and teachers. She has just come back from a week in Cardigan where she went with her class to an outdoor activity centre ( like Talybont ) she had such a good time doing canoeing, archery, caving, beach combing, staying up late and midnight feasts!!!! mind you they had to wash up too, that did not go down so well... she wishes that she could go back there again, she is now looking forward to the yr 6 trip next year to the Isle Of White. She still does her horse riding and gym.
Iam still at the High school and loving every minute, I mostly work with yr 10, who make me laugh every day, they have just finished 2 weeks of exams, so they are all happy they are over till their next ones in November.
We are both looking forward to half term I expect you are too.
We will try and check in more often and leave a message for you all, so until next time we send you our best wishes.

Hi Clare - I wondered if you were a past pupil when I saw you on Friday! I'll know who you are next time! We'd just been to have a practise at the church for our concert on Friday evening with the Beaufort Male Voice Choir. It was worth it. The concert went really well and the children sang beautifully. Sorry I haven't written for a long time. Clare in my school we do tennis, netball, football, basketball, hockey, cricket, badminton, dance and gymnastics! It's too much to handle. Anyway I heard that the Eisteddfod was a big success ours was alright too my house won and guess what I'm in the YELLOW HOUSE in Crickhowell as well as in Pandy! Did you do anything for Red Nose Day we did and I did a sponsor silence and the whole school raised about £2.500. Alison well done for doing your homework and well done everyone if you did your homework. Aim for a homework pass or even half a homework pass, and see I remember lots of things from Pandy aren't I amazing!!! :-) What is the homework task this week everybody I know it's got to be really fun or hard because it can't be too easy and it really can't be boring can it!

Speaking of practising, Clare, both types of practise are correct but they mean different things. Practise - means to do something over again to get better at it; Practice - is a type of public service such as a doctors' practice or a dental practice.

J2, I was really delighted with everyone who worked so hard to learn Rudyard Kipling's 'If' (yr6) and 'Sea Fever' by John Masefield (yr5). Very, very well done! WOW! (PS you looked stunning in your recycled hats!) Poor you Josh, for being ill. Don't worry, you've been placed in a couple of competitions, so well done for that!

Thanks everyone for a brilliant St David's Day. I really enjoyed it. Wych! Well done to all of you for taking part in something and making it such a good day. I was very proud of my class for all the super things they did and for taking part in so much. I'm really looking forward to listening to all the singing competitions tomorrow and seeing everyone dressed up for World Book Day. It's a very busy week! I'm sorry my class, but I don't think we will have time for spellings tomorrow, shall we leave them for Monday? I know you will all be very sad about that!

Hi everyone how are you all. I have just been on the playstation. I am going to town on Tuesday (Abergavenny) then on Wednesday I am going to Hereford . I am going to get some trainers and some school shoes then to get Laura a lot of presents because she will be 13 I have got something on my lip when I fell over and I banged my head on a stone. Mrs. Pritchard and myself have enough marking to do without having to mark and correct e-mails too! I keep getting red pen marks on my computer screen!!

Hello everyone! Well, how lovely to have had an extra day playing in the snow! I enjoyed looking at Mrs Sullivan's photos of the school. Yes, Holly, we'll still have running club unless it is absolutely pouring. I don't think there'll be any snow by then, but I imagine the ground will be nice and soggy, so remind mums to bring binbags for you to sit on in the car!
PS Please would someone sell me a bale of hay for our guinea pigs? - they've already munched and slept their way through the bale I had from Josh last term!

Hi everyone. Holly, I'm fine thanks how are you? No school on Thursday and we went home at 10am yesterday so I went shopping and saw Mrs. Pritchard in town. Today I have been snowboarding down the hill next to my house as Ben (went to Pandy for a week last year) has a snowboard which was great fun, but I probably shouldn't have done it as I'm off skiing in Austria next week (and you can't ski with your leg in plaster). We finish school at 4pm Holly, but we have really long holidays!

Having great fun in the snow building snowman and having snowball fights with my sister Chloe. My dad is busy on the farm even in the snow. All the baby lambs are out in the fields, so dad has had to give them hay. We also had 4 calves born yesterday, but they are in the barn nice and warm. See you at school on Monday. My goodness me Phillip! It's a wonder you've got time to build snowmen! Congratulations on your new calves and lambs. I think it was your ewes I could hear from the school this morning. It sounded like they were complaining about the weather. I don't blame them. They may have wooly coats but their feet must be very cold indeed!
I hope you and Chloe continue to enjoy the snow. It's still snowing quite heavily at the moment. Who knows when it will stop!

How are you all today! I'm still off school of course. My school was open this morning but my mum said that there was no point going and she was right 'cause my school closed at 11:20am, so there really wasn't any point going! Some people actually went to school but then they had to go back home again!! I like the weather website that you have on your website! Mrs P is there going to be any running club if it's snowing!!!??? My car is snowed in the snow is up to the top of the tyres !!!!! I LOVE THE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you like it Holly. They're quite a useful website. They give 3 hourly reports about the weather, direct from the Met Office.

Wow! Mrs Sullivan, it's very snowy at Llanvihangel isn't it? and those photos are very lovely and pretty. Is it still snowing where you are because it's still snowy quite heavily here in Abergavenny and in Crick I think!? Not sure about Crickhowell, but the school is closed. I was meant to have a Welsh test today but it will have to be after half term now and I was meant to recite a poem in English as well but that will have to be after half term too! :-( Anyway I going take my dog for a walk in the snow in a minute!!!! I did a maths test on Wednesday and I think I did okay but they gave us lots of tests lately and I don't know why!! Anyway got to go now.

Half past 3 nearly, here in Newport and it's still snowing! This is the most snow that I can remember since 1995! Before that I think it was 1982 but most of you won't remember that! It was so bad that year that my parents couldn't get me to the hospital when my brother threw a dart in my toe!
It's a shame about your tests Holly. They're better out of the way I think! Us teachers like tests so I'm not surprised you've got lots of them!! ;-)

Speaking of running, CONGRATULATIONS! to the Year 6s who travelled to King Henry for the Cross-county event on Tuesday morning. We only had a team of 7 there from our school, all of our pupils finished in the top 10 and 3 won medals!!! Well done everyone!
Also, thank you to Mrs. Pritchard and Mrs. Noblet for taking the children there and looking after them.

Hi Clare, We're not in school today either! Mrs. Jones kindly rang me at 6.31(!!!) this morning to tell me there was a lot of snow in Llanvihangel! I live in Newport and there's a lot down here too, which is unusual for us!

Jack, well done for rescuing the cat! What have you called him/her? I'd love to see a photo when you've got one. Did I mention that I liked cats?!? ;-)

It will be great to meet you Mrs Sullivan at running club!! Hi Clare how are you? I've got no school either, it's great the whole day at home! My dog loves the snow, I've just been down to the park with my dog and she went mad and I threw snowballs and she went searching for them IN the snow. I've had a bit of a cold but nothing will stop me from coming to running club (apart from the weather, of course.) Clare what time does your school day finish??? Oh and who is going to running club???? One more day of school (maybe unless it SNOWS again) Have you changed the website a bit aswell??? So what have you lot done at home today? Anyway I'll see you all at running club on, Not this Thursday, but next Thursday the 15th. It was my friend's birthday today in Crick. I bought her chocolates and a teddy panda, it's not fair she's older than me but my birthday is soon!! It's in March! Did you know that in Crick we are exactly half way through the school year !!! It's amazing isn't it!! School is much better now but I still prefer Llanvihangel (Pandy is probably easier to say but there you go)

Hi Jack! I've noticed you speaking a lot on the web site.

I have nearly finished the jigsaw I had for my birthday, all I've got to do now is the outside.

I had £85 for my birthday.

I did the race for life last year and I hope to do it again this year, our school has got a running club and I am going to join it this week!

I've just come back from my run with the dog and we went about 3miles in about 15 minutes! It was really good fun! if I finished school early enough I would come to your after school running club instead I get to sit through French! I'm really tired now, can anyone suggest a good place to go running?
